Cholecalciferol is a dietary supplement that is used to treat vitamin D
deficiency. It is also used with calcium to maintain bone strength. This
medicine is available both over-the-counter (OTC) and with your doctor’s
prescription.

Usage:-

• Children in the first year of life at risk of Vitamin-D deficiency should
  receive supplementation with 400 IU/day to 1000 IU/day.
• 400 IU/day should be initiated from the first day of life in all breastfed
  babies.
• Most clinical studies suggested daily regimens of Vitamin-D
  administration.
